Dear Reader,
Happy New Year 2023! I hope your start to the new year has been great so far. I am back in Bologna after a wonderful holiday period in Finland. Before leaving for the holidays, I spent a memorable long weekend in Madonna di Campiglio and it definitely earns its own Merenda post.
So let’s kick start this year with a travel guide to Madonna di Campiglio, where I hope to travel back very soon.
Cari Saluti,
Emilia in Bologna
Are you enjoying Merenda? I’d love if you would forward it to a friend or family member. Thank you!
What to do
Ski!
Goes without saying, that Madonna di Campiglio is the destination to go for skiing. To my surprise, there were a lot of visitors who didn’t ski and you could also find the not-skiing related activities around the area. Visit the official site to find out more.
The Ski Pass-app made skiing in the area very easy. It only charged for the time spent skiing, which meant that we didn’t have to decide beforehand how many days/hours we’d be skiing. You can download the app in advance, register, and activate the card on the first day of skiing. This process was easy and efficient, and it let us hit the slopes without too much hassle or queuing.
Apres Ski!
An obvious part of skiing is the fun you get to have after a long (or short) day of skiing. The Apres Ski in Madonna di Campiglio was a lot of fun.
Lab is a place you can ski straight to (or arrive by car) with both an outdoor area and an indoor area. We tried both on different days, and the party inside was something else. Packed with Italians, a DJ and a toast master and dancers it provided an extensive apres ski experience for us. ;)
Ober 1 is right next to the ski lifts in town, and it is easily accessible from the the town center. It had a fun vibe and two different indoor areas with DJs playing and people dancing.
